The hope that turned into disaster.

After many years of living as a second-class citizen in their own country, the south Sudanese were finally separated from Sudan and formed their own country known as South Sudan. The news was received not only by jubilation but hope throughout the world.

South Sudanese themselves were very hopeful and hope to have a fair share of their oil in Bentiu, gold and timber in parts of Equatoria, fish and other goodies from all parts of South Sudan.

The artists did not wait to compose songs to fit the new acquired freedom. E.g.  Bakindo left the comfort of living in the United States to return and joined in celebrations.
