Wedding in Dallas
Wedding, unity and peace go together
Wedding of the year
Last week July 16th this year, there was a grand wedding that rained money, rained unity and rained peace. On that day our brother Yona and Helen Rasas re-tightened the knot in a lavish ceremony that made some ladies to salivate in wanting for more for themselves. This probably is an opening of float gate for more. The wedding was well attended by people from all walks of life including dignitaries who came as simple people despite their status in society. This was typical of Sudanese party. More than three parties ran concurrently in the same venue separated by walls. Whereas other parties closed before midnight, the Sudanese one crossed 3 A.M if I not mistaken close to 4 A.M.
This marriage was so special in that the couple were already married and this will encourage them to live a healthy marriage life than explanation to their kids who witnessed the promises in person. Money, American dollar fell like rain from the sky. Picking it one by one was so difficult, so they used broom to sheep it together. The only container to accommodate the volume was garbage bags. The spirit of unity was unimaginable, Equatoria stood with one leg, and the other two people from Upper Nile and Bahr El Ghazel were warmly welcomed. Even the music represented all, and both chicken and cow dances were performed. Although eyebrows were raised soon calmed down overpowered by the spirit of peace.
Chief John Mena of Minessota earned the title of Gwangananie and survived sour throat from singing songs in Equatoria language. This wedding certainly will act as the beginning of Equatoriasm. With the intermarriages that have manifested so much in the region, those who dare attacking other tribes have attacked, their mothers in laws, fathers in laws, brothers in laws etc. The cost of unity is not so much, but if invested wisely the dividends are great.
The day after wedding was Sunday and a BBQ Day. The meat was indeed a ‘lokore’, the soup was ‘suruba’. The friendliness that was demonstrated during the BBQ was un imaginable.
All in all people of South Sudan are one people, being affiliated to different political garages, should not be a problem, tolerance should be exercised all are one people. People wearing different T/ shirts are still walking in two legs.
